How we rank profiles

Category and family pages only show professionals whose profile is published, checked by our team, and who work in the area being viewed.

Professionals with a paid subscription or in their 3-month free trial appear first. Everyone else follows.

Within each of these two groups, professionals who have ticked the area being viewed (or its county; on a county page, any of its areas) appear first, followed by those who say they travel across their whole region or the whole UK.

Among subscribed or trial professionals, the order changes automatically every day, so nobody always holds first place. For everyone else, the order follows seniority: profiles published longest come first. We don't take into account the price of services or reviews.

The planner uses the same groups; among professionals without a subscription, the most complete profiles (service answers and photos) appear first, and professionals who have said they aren't available on the chosen date aren't shown.

No professional can pay to appear ahead of another subscriber: all subscribers have the same priority.
